EcoReels Film Festival continues online on Cinemata

After its premiere onsite screenings in Delhi, India, on June 10 to 11, the EcoReels Film Festival continues online through Cinemata, extending its conversations on the environment, climate change, sustainable development, and active citizenship to audiences across the Asia-Pacific.
Organized and curated by Kriti Film Club, the EcoReels Film Festival is the longest-running grassroots film festival in India. Now in its 18th festival run, it continues to platform cinema as a tool for social change.
The online edition features 43 films in four curated thematic sets, namely: The Changing Planet, Flora, Fauna and Habitats, Urban Realities, and Community, Conservation and Futures, blending various genres and styles of fiction and nonfiction that explore the many ways people, landscapes, and ecosystems are interconnected.
The Changing Planet
Seven films that explore the visible and invisible impacts of climate change on landscapes, ecosystems, and everyday life, reminding us that environmental change is no longer a distant reality.
Flora, Fauna and Habitats
Twelve films celebrate the rich diversity of the natural world, while drawing attention to the many species and habitats under threat.

Urban Realities
Nine films look at the ways in which cities are shaped by environmental challenges, development, and inequality.

Extending its online screenings through Cinemata allows the festival’s advocacies to go beyond India and across the digital regions, circulating a curated selection of films that foster conversations and active citizenship around the environment, climate change, and sustainable development.
EcoReels Film Festival is a non-funded festival. Viewers are encouraged to donate via Kriti Film Club’s official channels at DOCULIVE.in.
The 18th EcoReels Film Festival streams on Cinemata from July 18 to August 11.
