Piyu, I Love You 2026: FEU Film Society Returns to Cinemata for Online Screenings

Far Eastern University (FEU) Film Society brings its annual film festival Piyu, I Love You (PILY) 2026 to a wider audience once again through Cinemata. Now in its third year on the platform, the partnership continues to make student films accessible beyond the university, allowing audiences across the Asia-Pacific to engage with the works produced by the organization’s emerging filmmakers.

This year’s theme, “Decoding 143: Breaking the Algorithm of Affection,” invites filmmakers to rethink how love is represented on screen. Rather than following familiar romantic tropes, the festival encourages participants to explore alternative expressions of affection, examining how love appears in everyday relationships and social encounters.

Drawing from the shorthand “143,” commonly understood as “I love you,” the theme frames love as a kind of code: an intimate language shared between people who understand each other in particular ways. It can emerge in relationships between a mother and child or within communities where gestures of care take unexpected forms.

Through these films, the 2026 edition of Piyu, I Love You reflects on how FEU Film Society members decode the familiar phrase “I love you,” revealing the many ways love is understood, communicated, and lived in contemporary life.
